Activating Your Service:
Your Austria mobile phone number is located package containing the Austria SIM card next to the text "ihre Ruhnummer".
The PUK is only required to unblock your cell phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your Austria SIM card if this occurs.
Adding Talk Time:
Your SIM card has an initial airtime credit of 5 € ($6.00) . Additional credit/airtime for your Austria SIM card is available through the purchase of a T-Mobile refill, which is an airtime credit voucher (not another SIM card), in Austria. These airtime vouchers are available in 4 denominations:
Simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your reload code. When punched into the keypad of your international cell phone the reload code will credit your Austria SIM card the respective Euro denomination you purchased.
T-Mobile credit vouchers are available locally, in Austria, at local Tabac shops, convenience stores, T-Mobile shops and authorized dealers.
Remember: Do not purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! Your only need a recharge voucher! And your incoming calls are always free even when you run out of airtime.
Austrian Cell Phone Rates:
Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls within Austria from your prepaid Austria SIM card while you are in Austria. All incoming calls regardless of where they originate are FREE while you are in Austria.
International Roaming Rates:
International roaming with your Austria SIM card is not the cheapest alternative for staying in touch while on the road but it can be convenient for a weekend crossing into Switzerland or Germany for a weekend. With international roaming the benefit is that you don't have to buy a new SIM card and have a new cell phone number for 2 short days in a new country.
Service Life:
If you do not recharge your account within 12-months your Mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another Austria SIM card. The 12-month period starts the day you arrive in Austria and turn on your cellular phone.
