Rent a cell phone for use in Ireland. With a cell phone rental, you will also need to purchase a Ireland SIM card. The prepaid International SIM card in conjunction with a rented or purchased GSM phone is the most convenient solution for making cell phone calls, whether you are in the Ireland over in one of the 115 other countries your rental phone covers.

Regardless of where you will be, you will always retain the same phone number. Outgoing rates, with few exceptions, are approximately 50 cents per minute for domestic and international phone calls as outlined below. Incoming calls, with few exceptions, are the same.

Since these cellular phone cards are prepaid, there is no need for a contract, no minimums and no surprise credit card statements. For many people, purchasing a cellular phone while in Ireland is a smarter option to renting.

Activating Your Service:

Adding Talk Time:

Additional Talk time for your sim card may be added by purchasing airtime vouchers also known as Go cards at most convenience stores and petrol stations. Top-up cards for your sim card are available in €10, €15, €20, €25 and €40 denominations Simply scratch off the panel on your Go Card to reveal the unique number. Then call our Ready to Go Talkback service on 1741; key in your Go Card number into the keypad of your international cell phone and your call credit will be automatically added to your prepaid sim card.

Every time you top up (add airtime to your Ireland sim card), you'll be able to make calls for 6 months (or while airtime credit lasts) and receive calls for 12 months (for FREE).

International Roaming:

Your Ready to Go prepaid SIM card can roam in up to 30 European countries where you can make and receive calls. If you wish to travel abroad and use your Ready to Go phone whilst there, call the Ready to Go Customer Care Team on number 1850 20 87 87. While roaming in Europe incoming calls will cost US$1.15 and outgoing calls (domestic and throughout Europe) will cost US$1.72. With an Ireland SIM card you may travel to the following countries and have limited service: Austria, Belgium Czech Rep., Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. While roaming you may receive calls, make local outgoing calls (within the country you are roaming in) and make outgoing calls to Ireland.

Service Life:

The service life of your prepaid sim card is determined by the denomination of the Go Card (or airtime voucher) you purchase, however regardless of which airtime voucher you choose incoming calls will always be free for 365 days following your last top-up. Outgoing airtime credit expires as follows:

€10 expires after 30 days €15 expires after 60 days €25 expires after 90 days
€40 expires after 180 days
